Liu Bocheng is the founder and leader of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In December 1926, after the failure of Lushun Uprising, Liu Bocheng was wanted by Sichuan warlord Liu Xiang for 50,000 silver yuan, thus Liu Bocheng escaped and arrived in Anju in June 1927 with a group including his staff officer Zhou Guogan via Rongchang, Fushun, Longchang, Yongchuan, and Dazu. As Anju was a famous dock in east Sichuan, reactionary warlords thought it was easy for insurgents to cross the border by sneaking into Anju, plus the Staff Officer Zhou Guogan was a native of Anju, so You Guangju sent a battalion to Anju and station at the Martial Temple, set up checkpoints around to canvass and arrest the Marshal, later Military Commander Liu Bocheng disguised himself smoothly, escaped undetected and arrived in Hechuan, and headed to Hankou to rendezvous with the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Twenty days later, the world famous “August 1 Nanchang Uprising” was organized and launched.
